Microderm vs. Ultrasound
Traditionally,
when most people think facial resurfacing, the word
microdermabrasion comes to mind. Back in the 1970’s it was
mostly unheard of, in the 1980’s somewhat discussed amount
the rich, by the 1980’s it started to become popular, and by
the 1990’s it seemed most women were getting this service
performed.
While
microdermabrasion continues its popularity, newer technology
now exists that may or may not work for what your skin
results may be. Microdermabrasion is basically the
resurfacing of the skin with an abrasive way that allows for
exfoliation, thus allowing the esthetician to add
penetrating product for new and healthier skin to grow over
the top. Occasionally this can be a painful process and the
skin can become over exfoliated and also over sensitive if
not taken care of by a qualified esthetician.
Another
method of skin resurfacing is ultrasound. Ultrasound has
been used in the past to treat athletes with injuries. A
sound wave is passed through the troubled area allowing
stimulation to repair damaged tissue, which allows healing
to occur without the redness associated with
microdermabrasion
Ultrasound
allows for better penetration by passing a sound wave beyond
the dermis so that product can be absorbed to repair fine
lines and tighten skin, giving the skin a younger and
healthier look, even days after the procedure is done. If
used as instructed, it can help repair those fine lines
without surgery.

both, we offer the solutions so your skin can look and feel
